Road Trip!
The Royal Ambassador band took their show on the road to Atlanta, GA on October 12-15, 2007. After spending months learning intricate marching maneuvers and blowing through very challenging music, the Royal Ambassadors’ “Great American Road Trip” proved to be a resounding success! In Class 1A, the band took home first place awards for music, visuals, guard, percussion, and best band. They also earned the Grand Champion distinction for Class 1A and 2A (combined category) in those categories as well!
Our Royal Ambassadors were the second smallest band at the competition (by a wide margin). They played on turf, which is weird to say the least, they were playing right into the sun. Luckily it wasn’t that hot (by Florida standards) The band scored a 92, which is very very high by Florida standards and still high by Georgia standards. Watch as Saxophone Instructor Mr. Terry Burke will be sporting a new hairdo (as promised) in tribute to this wonderful score. The judges were big names in the drum corps circuit, which helps make our score extra special. All that to say, these kids are good, and their testimony is noticed!
NCS families can see the completed marching show on Friday, October 26th at the Homecoming Football Game.
