With all the changes that life has brought in the last few years, I have to say that I smile every time I'm reminded of my high school years at NCS. It's so true that you don't appreciate how great we had it until you've been away. As for me, I went to FSU and graduated in 2002 with a Political Science degree. I worked as a lobbyist in at the Capitol for a few years and eventually moved to Miami to attend UM Law. I graduated in 2005 and I am now practicing insurance defense law at a firm in Miami Lakes. Life has been good but of course very busy. If you ever come to Miami, please look me up! I'd love to see some familiar faces :) God bless and keep in touch. Posted 05-14-07: Hey Class of '06! Haaahahahahaha. Posted 03-19-07: Hi everyone! I haven't seen any Class of 98' posts here yet, so I suppose I might as well be the first ;) Posted 03-13-07: Spent 11 years in Minnesota and moved back to St Petersburg, Florida in 2001. I was an Anti-Terrorism Officer, in the area, for a couple of years. After I led a Strike Team to New Orleans to aid in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, I decided to make a career change and I am now a real estate agent; www.ChadJacobs.com. I bump into Northsiders from time to time and have been asked to help put a reunion together. So, if you are interested send me an email and we will keep you in the loop. We are currently thinking of a combined Classes of 1989-92 reunion. A MySpace Group has been started to aid in the Reunion process. http://groups.myspace.com/NorthsideChristian. Visit my MySpace page if you wish and if I know you I may add you. www.myspace.com/xanderrayne Posted 03-12-07: I would love to hear from anyone from the class of '82. I've lived in St. Petersburg since graduation and have only run into a handful of you over the past 25 years. I've been married for 22 years and have 2 children (12 and 18). My son is graduating in May! I feel so old! Posted 03-09-07: Hi! I was wondering if there are any plans in the works for a reunion this year for the Class of '82? Posted 02-09-07: Hello to all you rapidly-aging members of the class of '87!! I can't help but notice that 2007 marks the 20-year anniversary since we last wandered the halls of NCHS in our hip '80s 'Miami Vice' clothes. I have to confess that I still have my favorite pair of pants from high school and put them on occasionally to remind myself how cool I was. So, the big question is: Are we going to plan a reunion? (You all know that deep down you have at least a little morbid curiosity as to how your ex-girlfriend/boyfriend turned out, right?) How many of us do you suppose we can track down? I know I can get a hold of at least 5 or 6 of us pretty easily. That leaves only about 60 more. Email me if any of you have some interest and I'll try to get some contacts going to find out where people are in the world (3 of us are here in Colorado). Posted 02-02-07: Hello fellow '87 grads. I thought after 20 years of silence I'd drop everyone a line. I'm up in Orchard Park, NY working as a Brand Manager. I'm married and have two little boys (and a dog). Feel free to send me an email. Posted 01-20-07: Hey Northside Mustang fans! I sure do miss everyone...Presently I am a writer for our local newspaper, feature stories mostly, and I am active in local theater,(no surprise to anyone who remembers me). My husband Andy and I of 21 years have 5 kiddos ages 20 - 11. They keep us plenty busy, 4 boys and one girl. We've had our share of trials and blessings, but we thank our Lord Jesus for it all... I hope all of my classmates have continued in the Lord and I praise God for my Christian education and the influence of PJ Miller, Mrs. Innes, and other Godly teachers....God bless all of you...ellen Posted 01-18-07: I didn't graduate from Northside, but spent my elementary years there. I went to Northside from Kindergarten-5th grade. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Kline, my kindergarten teacher. I also had Mrs. DeWeese, Mrs. Baker and some others I cannot remember (lol). After 5th grade I went to Seminole Middle and Seminole High, graduated in 1996. I went to SPJC for a year, then moved to Memphis TN, worked and saved money to go to the University of Mississippi. After 2 years I just wasn't happy and moved back to what I consider my home, Anchorage Alaska. My parents had moved back there a few years prior, so I decided to follow. I was 22 at the time. I worked for a restaurant for a few years, then got a job with the Police Department as a dispatcher. While up there, I met and got married to my husband. He is a Staff Sgt in the USAF. He got orders to move to Tacoma Washington at McChord AFB in July 05, and we have been in the area since. We are pregnant with our first child and are due with our little girl on April 19th. I would love to hear from anyone I went to school with. I loved my time at Northside. Posted 01-10-07: I regret not being able to come home to participate in NCS Alum activities. Still, I am proud to be an NCS alum, and would love to communicate with any and all of my old friends. It is because of my NCS experience that I intend to become an elementary school teacher when I retire from the Navy; preferably at a private Christian school where I can express my beliefs. Posted 01-06-07: Hey you all, just an update from the Arenas family. My older sister, Carolyn is out in Oregon. And i am teaching in Southern Hillsborough at a school for migrant children. What a privilege to be with these little ones! Would love to hear from anyone. Happy New Year. Posted 11-06-06: Hey everyone! I was surprised to see how many people I recognized on the updates! I get back to NCS every so often and make a FEEBLE attempt to play in the alumni basketball games. However, as the years progress, the temptation to play diminishes...especially when I could have given birth to most of my teammates! :) After NCS, I graduated from Clearwater Christian College with a BS in Physical Education. I spent the next 15 years teaching and coaching full time while leading music and youth departments in churches part time. I even ran SPJC's College for Kids for a while. However, I am now currently a senior at the Medical College of Georgia pursuing a second bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy. I got remarried this past April and have never been happier. My husband, Joey, and I met here in Augusta, GA at the school where I was teaching. Our daughters were in 1st grade together, and the following year, our sons started kindergarten together. Who would have ever known that 7 years later, the Lord would bring us together permanently?!? The kids are all in middle school now (girls in 8th grade, boys in 6th). They've been friends most of their lives, so the "blending" thing is working much better than we could have ever expected...just another example of God's goodness. I will say though it is NEVER dull at our house! I attend school (with clinical rotations) an average of about 50 hours a week and work part time as a polysomnographer (doing sleep apnea studies all night long) two nights a week. My husband is in radiological controls at a nuclear power plant. We are active in our church music department where we all sing and I play the piano. In our "free time", we coach our children's sports teams. After I graduate in May, I will go into hibernation for a while. But after that, I would love to plan a 20 year reunion for the class of 88 if we can find enough people to go! How about a cruise? Anyone interested??? We have a year and a half to save up! :) Just let me know! I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers me. By the way, I DID finally reach 5 feet tall. :) My kids are now praying THEY will! :) Posted 11-02-06: Hello everyone! I just found this page and it's so good to see SO many names I recognize. I was in the first Kindergarten class that went all the way through high school graduation. I can't believe it's been 35 years! It's good to see how well everyone is doing. I'd love to hear from any one of you. I live in the Denver area now and absolutely love it. My parents still go to Northside Baptist so I get to hear about some "old" friends now and then. Take care! Posted 10-14-06: I live just over the skyway down in Palmetto Florida with wife and two kids (2 year old boy and a 3 week of girl), just went to homecoming last night (Oct 06) and saw some old friends. I am up in St. Pete all the time so give me a call or email if you want to chat or get together. Life is good. Posted 09-30-06: Hey Kaye Zadie...are you out there? Posted 09-30-06: Let's plan a reunion Class of '76! I'll organize. Anyone know how I can reach Kaye Zadie? Posted 09-30-06: I can't make it to homecoming this year but would love to hear from fellow classmates. Any chance I can organize a reunion for us? Need to hear from you!!! Email me soon. Posted 09-25-06: I just stumbled across the alumni page. It was nice to read about how so many are doing. I met my wife at Word of Life Bible Institute. After we married, I went into the Marine Corps. I served 4 years as an Air Traffic Controller. I became a Tower Supervisor. We than moved to MI. We now have 5 children of which we are homeschooling 4. It was great to see Coach Brinkly and every one at the football reunion. Posted 09-21-06: I've been reading the alumni messages, and realized that I taught and/or coached nearly everyone who has posted comments! Each name brings a smile as I remember some incident in (or out of) class. I never thought I'd leave NCS, but in 2000 I moved to Dallas. I got a Masters in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. I thought I'd start a private practice with a friend of mine and actually make money for the first time in my life, but God had different plans. I'm counseling "troubled teens" and their families at a Christian residential facility north of Denver, CO. It's a perfect fit for me -- I get to really get to know these kids, have fun with them and share my faith in a relationship-based environment. I've been here 2 1/2 years now, and loving every minute of it!! I'd love to hear from anyone I may have thrown an eraser at. And I'm going to try to be there for the 35th anniversary celebration...anyone remember the 20th celebration back in 1990? I do... Miss Lisa Jones (former teacher) Posted 09-16-06: Hi everyone! I have missed every homecoming and realize it always after the fact. After graduating NCHS I did various jobs before realizing that without college I had no absolute direction. I did the SPJC thing and then on to USF for the Bachelors! Who would have thought after hating science I would end up a scientist! I did Immunology research for over 7 years and then was the Imaging Core Director at UNC Charlotte. Now I am a Field Scientist for a Biotech company called Promega Corporation. I travel through NC and SC working with Academic / Pharma / Biotech companies. I mostly stay in the RTP area but some times get back to Charlotte where we had lived for 6 years. I married a wonderful man I met at Indian Rocks Baptist Church where we sang in the choir. God has not blessed us with children but we do have two dogs that we love playing around with. We currently attend Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh NC and love it. I would love to hear from anyone, feel free to send me an email anytime at cindy.petty@cscape.net Posted 09-07-06: I live in Atlanta, GA , and running my own Private Investigation Firm. Posted 08-12-06: I'm always looking for people who I knew at Northside... if you knew me, contact me. I'd love to hear from you, especially class of 80, 81 and 82. I was Maryanne Zimmermann and left after the 11th grade when my family moved to Georgia. I was fortunate enough to participate in the 20 year reunion of the class of 1981 and am looking forward to the next one. Whatever happened to Kelli Bowers, class of 80? Maryanne (Zimmerman '81) Economos Posted 07-22-06: I would love to hear from anyone. Heidi Lynn (Gutterman '94) Monaghan
