Virtual Reference Desk

Patrons connecting to the Virtual Reference Desk will find a list of links for general reference, almanacs, Bible reference, biography, college information, country links, dictionaries, encyclopedias, medical information, state and national sites, history, literature, government, and weather. 

These links have been carefully chosen to provide accurate and authoritative facts that can be found quickly.  There is even an MLA citation engine!  This addition will make research much easier for all.

What Is Mandarin?

Northside Christian School needs to replace its aged library catalog program, as it is no longer updateable and does not offer consistent web-enabled services to our families to use from home. You may have heard the word "Mandarin" mentioned around school.

Mandarin Oasis will take the place of the ATHENA program we now use. It offers our students and families the following benefits, among others:

• You will be able to access the library catalog from home.
• You will be able to check on AR points for each book from home.
• You will be able to see pictures of the cover of the book.
• You will have access to author and publisher information from the Web.
• You may be able to read parts of the book from any computer.
• It will produce an MLA citation from any resource in the library.

Mrs. Baker will be holding fundraisers in the Fall to cover the cost of licensing the Mandarin Oasis program, which is approximately $3,000. Here are some things that the library will be doing, and we would appreciate your support as well!

• Pray.  Providing $3,000 is easy for the Lord!
• Put coins in the library coin jar.
• Help us plan and implement CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER. (It is a fundraising event through Carolina Christian Book Fairs – But it is not a book fair.)
