Parenting Libraries

To assist parents with the challenging world of raising children, Northside Christian School has set up two special collections in the Elementary and MS/HS Libraries.  Books have been chosen and purchased with parents in mind. 

Titles include:

• The Wonder of Girls by Gurian,
• The Way They Learn by Tobias,
• Internet Safety,
• Bringing Up Boys by Dobson,
• When Mothers Pray by Fuller
• and one hundred and two other books.

In addition to these special collections, parents may check out books from the general circulating collections and some from the faculty professional collections.  The Middle School/High School library has extensive collections in Christian living and adult Christian and secular fiction.  Videos are not available to parents at this time.

Parents may come into the libraries during open hours. 

• The Elementary Library is open from 7:45 am. to 3:00 pm.  Parents will need to check with the office before entering to insure that classes visiting the Elementary Library are not disturbed.
• The Middle/High School Library is open from 7:00 am. to 3:30 pm.   Mrs. Baker will be gone for lunch sometime between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm., so it is best to avoid this hour.

Parents may borrow up to two books for a two week period.  The librarian will loan books to parents in their own names.  The regular rules for check-out will apply such as responsibility for on-time returns.  Parents will be charged fines for overdue books of $.10 per school day.  Students may return books for parents at any time.  Parents may use either library, regardless of the age of their student.
