Emergency weather

Guidelines for NCS Families During Inclement Weather

INTERNET

NCS will endeavor to post emergency information on the following websites depending on the availability of electricity, Internet access and computer hardware.

PHONE SYSTEM

If the school has electricity, you will be able to check the phone system at school. Dial the school’s number, 541-7593, extension 369 for the Emergency Weather Information Extension. You may also use “option #6” which will also connect you to the emergency weather information extension.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Although the school "tends" to follow the Pinellas County School system, this may not always be the case. For example, if Pinellas County has to utilize their schools as a shelter, this would not impact NCS.

MEDIA

Check the websites for the local news stations and radio stations. The TV stations will not always promise to post private schools on the air, but they will post updates on their websites. Channel 10 News (WTSP-TV10) and Channel 28 News (WFTS-TV-28) have especially been very cooperative in the past at posting our updates. The radio stations that have proven to be helpful within this communication process are: 88.1 JOY FM, 970 WFLA, 90.5 SPIRIT FM
