Community Service resources

Jackson S. and SPCA Hurricane DonationCommunity service is a vital component of the total educational experience at Northside Christian High School.  Our purpose is to encourage our students to develop a servant’s heart and to appreciate the community and its needs.  Therefore, to graduate from Northside Christian School, to qualify for a Bright Futures award, as well as to be eligible for other service-oriented awards, a student must complete at least 75 hours of community service over the course of their high school career.

Food ServiceIn an effort to expose our students to various learning opportunities, to have our students develop community contacts, and for our students to be involved in the community with a spirit of “doing for others”, the student will need to develop and implement a community service plan.  Identification of a community service that interests the student, development of a plan of action, and documentation of involvement are aspects of the community service plan.  Service projects that meet the requirements do not need prior approval from the guidance office and the service may be completed independent of the guidance counselor.

If the proposed service project does not meet the requirements, it may not be counted toward high school graduation and/or Bright Futures.  If you have a question, please contact the guidance office for assistance (Connie.Mullholand@nck12.com).
