Mrs. Miriela Hernandez
Sra. Miriela Hernandez was born in Havana Cuba and came over to the United States at a very young age. Sra. Hernandez was raised in a Spanish speaking home in Miami Florida. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in the field of education from Florida International University. She has also received formal training in the area of ESOL as part of her Bachelor’s degree. Sra. Hernandez is currently certified in K-12 Spanish and is working on her last semester of a Master’s degree from Western Governors University. Her master’s degree in Learning and Technology will aid in the continuous innovation of teaching techniques in her Spanish classes. Sra. Hernandez has been a member of the Northside Christian School and Northside Baptist Church family since 2007. Over the past fourteen years, she has served the school as an elementary, middle and high school Spanish teacher. Sra. Hernandez has also worked as an elementary Art teacher and Elementary Yearbook developer. Sra. Hernandez has served alongside her husband as the pastors of the Northside Baptist Church Spanish congregation. Sra. Hernandez currently teaches High School Spanish levels; one, three honors, four honors and this year has started the AP Spanish program at Northside Christian School. She has also started and is leading our first ever NCS Spanish National Honors Society.
