Degrees and Certifications:
B.A. Elementary Education with ESOL from Florida International University
Mrs. Miriela Hernandez
I was born in Havana Cuba and came to the United States in 1980 with my mother and two of my siblings. I grew up in the culturally rich city of Miami Florida. I earned my bachelor's degree from Florida International University in the area of Elementary Education. My husband and I moved to Saint Petersburg twelve years ago to join the NCS family both as teacher/administrator and parents. Most recently, I have obtained my certification on Spanish kindergarten through twelve grade from Pinellas County School department. I have been blessed with the opportunity of teaching in all three schools at NCS. For the past eleven years, I have worked at the elementary, middle and high school levels. My husband and I have our four children at NCS and have experienced first hand the love and care the teachers and staff have for the student body.
I have loved getting to know our students both in the classroom setting as well as in a sports/fine arts environment. Our school offers one of the best well rounded educational experiences around. As if that is not enough, most importantly it is centered in Christ. Although my passion is for teaching students a second language, knowing that I can share the love of Christ with them every single day is what makes it complete.
I hope this year as those in the past, I will be able to partner with our parents to make our students' Spanish learning experience a memorable and positive one. Thank you once again for blessing me with the opportunity of teaching your children.
