Lightning Detection System Status
The Weatherbug Outdoor Alerting System sounds a loud 110-decibel horn to give early warning that lightning has been detected in a preset distance around the NCS campus. An "All Clear" sound informs coaches and officials when it is safe to go back outside and resume activities. The widget below shows real time lightning alerts.
- The alert bar will be green with no information shown when there is no active alert.
- The alert bar will be red during an alert, with information displayed as to the last detected stroke time.
- The "Time to All Clear" display is the system's estimate of when the current active alert will be cleared. The current status can change at any time if more lightning is detected.
