Mr. Mark Thorson

I grew up as a Missionary Kid (MK) in Kathmandu, Nepal (pronounced: kaht-mahn-doo). Yes, I was able to see Mt. Everest in the distance on a clear day! After spending two years of High School at Woodstock International boarding school in Mussoorie, India, I completed my senior year of high school at Wheaton Academy, West Chicago, IL. I went on to earn my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. A few years later I graduated from Syracuse University iSchool with my Masters of Science in Library and Information Science.

I went back to Nepal and gained valuable hands-on experience working for two years as the School Librarian for Kathmandu International Study Centre (KISC). This was the school I had attended when I was younger, but it had moved since I was a student there. I then spent one and a half years as the School Librarian for Hillcrest International School in Jos, Nigeria. Working at these two International Christian Schools was a wonderful experience for me. I knew I was where God wanted me, and He taught me much during those four years. I continue to follow His calling, and He has led me to Florida where I am now the MS/HS Librarian here at Northside Christian School!

"Do to others as you would have them do to you." -Luke 6:11
The part I find hardest to remember is that this verse is talking about how I should treat my enemies, not just my friends. It is by God's Grace, and with His strength, that I will succeed!
