Mrs. Loretta Cooke
My full name is Loretta May Freeman Cooke. I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 2, 1979. My husband's name is Matt. I have a son named Jacob. He will be 16 years old on September 1st and will be in 11th grade this year. I also have a daughter named Aubrey who is 13. She will be going into 8th grade.
I grew up in St. Petersburg and even went to Northside. I graduated from Northside in 1997 and went to college at Palm Beach Atlantic University. I decided to become a teacher my second year of college. I started out as a Biology major because I wanted to be a doctor. I enjoyed all of my classes, but I just felt that God wanted me to be working with kids. I loved school and learning when I was growing up, and God put a desire and a passion in my life for teaching. This will be my nineteenth year teaching. I taught 4 years of 5th grade, 1 year of Middle School, and 1 year of fourth grade. This will be my fourteenth year in third grade, and I love it!
The most important thing in my life by far is my relationship with God. I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was seven years old, and I have been growing in my relationship with God ever since. He is my purpose and my passion. Everything I do I strive to do for Him. I am constantly amazed at his hand in my life and the sacrifice He made for me. My prayer this year is that each and every one of our families will experience God in a great and mighty way. What a difference we could make!
Our class verse is Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." I love how God's word guides us no matter what we are learning as an infallible source of knowledge, wisdom, and truth from our creator. I pray that in our classroom you will always find His word lighting our path.
I am looking forward to our year together and getting to know each one of you. God has a special plan for each of our lives and I can’t wait to see how He uses us this year!
