This is my 29th year at Northside. The 2021-22 year will be my 30th. After growing up in Ohio (Go Buckeyes!), I first came to NCS in 1984 just after graduating from Taylor University with a BS in Social Studies. I was hired to coach Volleyball and to teach 8th grade and Junior US History, as well as 9th grade World History. AFter a few years NCS started a Middle School and I became the full time 7th grade Geography and 8th grade US History teacher. Along the way, I also built up a track team and because the Middle School Volleyball coach.
I left Northside from 2000-2008, earning my MA in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary, then moving to Denver to counsel at a Christian residential facility for troubled teens and their families. I love what God taught me and how He grew me during those years away! But in 2008, I ended up back at NCS in the same room I’d spent 12 years in before, only this time I was teaching Bible.
I'm so very thankful to be back "home" at Northside Christian! This place really is a family to me and so many others! You may see me taking pictures at sports and fine arts events. I enjoy getting the chance to take pictures for you and your families so you can enjoy watching your child doing what they love to do.
I believe Bible is the most important subject your child will take at Northside. I cherish the chance to stretch the faith and worldview of our students. Ultimately, it's our relationship with Jesus Christ that truly matters, and it's an honor and a privilege to dive deeply into the faith taught in the Bible.
My life verse -- for so many reasons! -- is Genesis 50:20. "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."
