School Board

Northside Christian School is owned and chartered by Northside Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, Inc., a non-profit corporation and is under the overall authority of Northside Baptist Church, its members and Board of Elders. The Northside Christian School Board is delegated authority by the Board of Elders of Northside Baptist Church to act as the governance board of Northside Christian School. The Head of School is delegated the authority by the Northside Christian School Board to employ faculty, administration, and staff; to carry out the daily operations of the school; and to make recommendations to the NCS Board regarding policies of the school.

John Duff

School Board - Chairman

Bio
John has been a past member of the NCS School board and also board chairman. He and his wife Cindy recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. Cindy taught Bible and Psychology at NCS for over 15 years and their four children are all NCS grads. Cindy created and runs a non- profit organization called Compass Ministries that provides member care to missionaries and third culture children. John recently retired after a long career in the technology industry and higher education. He was the Director of Information Technology at Eckerd College and most recently was the Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology at St. Petersburg College. John and Cindy also lead a Connect Group at Northside Baptist Church.
Peggy Albury

My name is Margaret G. (Peggy) Albury. I was born in Sarasota, FL but moved to Pinellas County with my large, (5th child of 8), Irish family when I was one year old. I graduated from Boca Ciega High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from Eckerd College. I have been married to Bob Albury for 49 years and we have 3 grown daughters. We have been members of Northside Baptist Church for 41 years. I am currently retired from Eckerd College where I was a Testing and Logistics Coordinator for the Leadership Development Institute. All 3 of our girls are graduates of Northside Christian School having attended since K-4. Their years at NCS prepared them well for success in college, for which they received academic, Christian character, athletic scholarships, and for life. At various times from 1986 to 2001 I have worked at Northside Christian School in a wide variety of positions: cafeteria worker, kindergarten assistant, pre-school interim Director, and High School office assistant. Our oldest daughter started at NCS in 1982 and our youngest graduated in 2000 so I have a long history with the school and am well acquainted as both a parent and former employee which gives me a wide range of perspectives to draw upon. Our family dearly loves the school and are grateful to be able to serve the school in any capacity we can.
Angela Bolds

School Board Member

Bio
Dr. Angela D. Bolds is a Florida native born the 6th of eight children. She was educated in Hillsborough County’s public school district. Immediately after high school, she attended the University of South Florida (USF) and received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. She worked for six years as an engineer for General Electric. She formerly worked with St. Petersburg College (SPC) as an adjunct mathematics instructor as well as a corporate trainer for the SPC EpiCenter. While employed with GE, she completed her graduate studies at USF, earning a master of business administration with a dual emphasis in finance and entrepreneurship. Realizing the many opportunities available to her, she aimed higher and sought an exciting career as a computer consultant with a “big six” firm for another five years. She spent those years traveling the country, working with Fortune 500 CEO’s, implementing and assisting with the development of more streamlined business systems, meeting very bright, dynamic and inspiring professionals who were very impactful in her development as a professional engineer. Desiring to spend more time with her family as a new mom, she took an information technology position with Home Shopping Network in Clearwater. There she worked until she decided to pursue a career as a math educator, where she continues to use her discipline and knowledge of mathematics to develop disciplined high school math students. Dr. Bolds holds math certifications for both 5-9 and 6-12 grade levels and is known as a High Impact educator in Florida due to her students earning consistently high scores on state assessment tests. Her passion has always been to help others realize their potential and empower them to discover and live out their true purpose as they discover their divine gifts. She has two sons, Jordan who graduated from Northside Christian in 2019 and attends the University of Central Florida, pursuing a degree in biomechanical engineering, and Joel who graduated from Northside in 2021, just finishing up his third semester at Southeastern University, studying Music production. In her spare time, Dr. Bolds likes to run, read, spend time with family/friends. She is a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and that sets the tone for her life.
Donald James

Head of School, School Board Member

Bio
Dr. Don James is the Head of School. He has served in Christian/private education for nearly 45 years. He and his wife Sue have two children, Matthew, and Mackenzie. Dr. James received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, having earned a Masters in School Administration from Samford University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Tennessee Temple University. Deeply committed to Christian education, Dr. James is also an adjunct professor in the Masters of Education program for Liberty University and serves on the ACSI Florida/Caribbean Regional Accreditation Commission.
Daryn Mullholand

Administrative Pastor

Bio
Reverend Daryn Mullholand, MBA has served on the School Board for several terms in the past two decades, including serving as Chair from 2004-2007; recording Secretary from 2009-2010, and then as a pastoral liaison to the Board for several more recent terms. Pastor Daryn currently serves as the Administrative Pastor for Northside Baptist Church and has been a staff pastor since June 2014. Prior to serving at Northside, Daryn was the practice administrator for almost twenty years for a pediatric medical group in St Petersburg. He continues to serve as a consultant to medical practices of various specialties throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Daryn and his wife Tamara have two sons who graduated from Northside Christian School (Joshua 2018, and Jacob 2020).
Ron Peters

School Board Member

Bio
As a disciple of Jesus Christ, Ron is an active member and elder at Northside Baptist Church. He has helped as a leader in the youth ministry for many years and enjoys seeing students grow in their walk with Christ and become active servants in the community. He married his wife Toni in 2002 at Northside and they have a daughter who attended Northside Christian School from pre-school until she graduated in 2022. Ron attended University of Florida and University of South Florida where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration and is a partner in a local business here in St. Petersburg.
Ernest Rehnke

School Board Member

Bio
Ernest C. Rehnke, MD, FACS has lived in St. Petersburg, Florida for most of his life. His parents grew up in St. Petersburg and his family moved back when he was three. After attending college and Medical School he returned to make St. Petersburg his permanent home. Dr. Rehnke had a flourishing surgical practice for 30+ years and retired in 2020. He has been married to his wife Linda for 46 years. Dr. Rehnke has a long-standing relationship with NCS. He served as a member and chairman of the School Board during the 1990’s and 2000’s. His daughter attended NCS grades K-12 and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. Through the years he has enjoyed attending sporting events and Fine Arts productions. He is proud to have a niece and nephew in the NCS Marching Band. Dr. Rehnke has been a member of Northside Baptist Church for over 60 years. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and taking care of his granddaughters. He loves to travel and has made over 25 mission trips throughout his practice years. He is thrilled that retirement has allowed him to travel once again. He is sharing God’s love through Surgical Medicine, having most recently served this summer for
5 weeks in Togo, West Africa.
Chad Scarbro

Lead Pastor

Bio
Dr. Chad Scarbro, his wife Amber, and their four children moved to Northside in January of 2019. Chad serves as the Lead Pastor for Northside Baptist Church. Before joining NBC, Chad spent the past 10 years in ministry in Knoxville,TN and Clarksville, TN. Chad loves the church and the school and is excited to be part of the Northside family. He wants everyone to know that he loves Jesus, family, country music, and throwing on first down.
Christian Yepes

School Board Member

Bio
Christian Yepes joined the school board in 2023. Born and raised in St. Petersburg, he graduated from Shorecrest, and earned his degree in Real Estate/Finance at the University of Central Florida. After college, Christian and his wife Katie moved back to St. Pete to begin his career in the commercial development world. He is now an owner/principal of Belleair Development Group along with his father, where aside from retail shopping centers and multi-family projects, the business remains centered on faith and family. Christian and Katie have had their two sons (Caleb and Connor) at Northside Christian since preschool, and they remain active at Northside Baptist Church. The Yepes family is passionate about foster care, and they would love to help other families get involved as well. Christian loves the impact that NCS is having on the next generation, and as part of the school board, looks forward to seeking God's will for the direction of the school moving into the future.
