Welcome to Northside Christian Preschool
At Northside Christian School, we strive to balance the importance of play and academics in our preschool curriculum. We believe that the lives of young children are enriched by having a safe, nurturing environment where open ended, creative, imaginative, and challenging play is highly valued for its role in healthy development. Using components of the A Beka preschool curriculum, we also strive to equip students with the necessary academic tools needed in preparation for kindergarten. Our curriculum includes activities that will cultivate basic academic skills, a love for learning, intrinsic motivation, citizenship, and a relationship with God that produces healthy, well rounded students.
Our preschool incorporates engaging learning environments:
- Imagine - Our building block/math room
- The Word - Our language arts room
- The ABC Cafe - Our Christian character and cooking room
- My Father’s World - Our hands on science room
- The Gardens - Our inside and outside nature curriculum centers
- Designated Music time
- Designated Spanish time
- Weekly preschool Chapel time
Fostering independence and leadership qualities, our unique format allows small groups of children to rotate throughout the day to these specifically designed areas while teachers remain in their area of study.
A weekly theme is followed and each of these prepared settings is equipped with the necessary tools students will need to grow academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. Once a week, all students will come together in our weekly time of worship. Our preschool serves children starting at age 3 who are self-regulated. We offer five learning groups with a maximum of 12 children in each group. Parents can drop their children off between 7:30am and 8:10am. We offer half day options with pick up at 12:30pm (includes lunch, either brought from home or purchased via the NCS Surfside Cafe') or full day options with pick up at 3pm. Aftercare is available until 5:30pm each night for an added fee.
